The number of teaching assistants and staff supporting teaching and learning in schools has risen by over 40% since 1997 and indications suggest that these numbers will continue to rise and the profession will continue to grow. Aspiring teaching assistants or those looking to expand on their current knowledge and qualifications can enrol on our Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools courses, available at Level 2 and 3 depending on experience and prior learning. Diploma in Supporting Teaching and
Learning in Schools

This course is suitable for closely supervised teaching support staff who wish to develop their knowledge about their role within the school or who are new to the role. Those wishing to work as Teaching Assistants, Classroom Assistants or Learning Support Assistants will benefit from this qualification. By the end of the course learners will be at the nationally recognised Level 2 Standard.

This qualification will enable schools to develop and upskill support staff and to effectively support pupils, parents and colleagues. Well trained teaching assistants provide teachers with the support they need to achieve excellent results with pupils.
